Felix Oloye seals free transfer switch to Kano Pillars from Niger Tornadoes

Nigeria defender Felix Oloye has joined Kano Pillars on a free transfer from Niger Tornadoes, strengthening the NPFL club’s options at left-back ahead of the new campaign.

The 33-year-old Lagos-born full-back moves after two seasons with Tornadoes and signs for Pillars as an experienced, left-footed defender who is comfortable operating on the flank. The deal was completed on 24 July, with Oloye arriving as a free agent after the end of his stint in Minna.

Oloye, whose primary position is left-back, featured regularly in the NPFL last season, making 28 appearances and contributing three assists while playing 2,023 minutes. His consistent involvement underlines the durability and defensive reliability Pillars will be looking to add on their left side.

Before his time at Niger Tornadoes, Oloye had spells with Ijebu United FC and Vandrezzer FC, staying within the Nigerian football pyramid as he built his career across different clubs. His move from Vandrezzer to Ijebu United in early 2024 was followed by a switch to Tornadoes later that year, where he re-established himself as a first-team regular.

Oloye’s current market value is listed at €25,000, reflecting his status as an experienced domestic campaigner rather than a developing prospect. His arrival offers Kano Pillars a ready-made option in defence as they prepare for the challenges of the coming NPFL season.
