Oluwasegun Aremu: Nigerian defender seals move to Kano Pillars from ASSC

Nigerian defender Oluwasegun Aremu has joined Kano Pillars from ASSC, strengthening the back line of the NPFL club ahead of the new campaign.

Aremu arrives after a season with ASSC, completing his switch on 24 July 2026. The transfer marks his return to the top flight with one of Nigeria’s most established sides, who compete in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The move continues a rapid rise for Aremu, who was part of the Remo Stars side that won the Nigerian championship in the 2024-25 season. His performances there earned him a transfer to ASSC in July 2025, where he spent the 2025-26 campaign before securing this latest step in his career.

Capable of operating across the defence, Aremu’s success at Remo Stars and his subsequent move to ASSC have given him experience in different environments within Nigerian football. That background now feeds into a Kano Pillars squad looking to add further depth and resilience at the back.

Aremu becomes a full member of the Kano Pillars squad from the start of the 2026-27 season following his completed move from ASSC.
