Turkish pundit Şansal Büyüka has sharply criticized Victor Osimhen’s performance in Galatasaray’s goalless draw against Fenerbahce, reliving the Nigerian forward’s struggles against Milan Skriniar in the intercontinental derby.
The much-anticipated clash between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce ended in a 0-0 draw, with both teams fighting for supremacy in the title race.
Skriniar, who was tasked with containing Osimhen, excelled in the challenge, effectively neutralizing the Napoli loanee before being substituted in the 89th minute.
Osimhen, who has been a standout performer for Galatasaray this season with his pace, physicality, and clinical finishing, was rendered ineffective by Skriniar’s tight marking.
Büyüka, speaking on the Sports Digitale YouTube channel via habersarikirmizi.com, was scathing in his analysis, stating, “Skriniar didn’t give a guy like Osimhen a break. Osimhen couldn’t come back. He played his least effective match in a Galatasaray jersey since he came. Because he couldn’t get out.”
Despite the criticism, Osimhen quickly returned to form, scoring a brace in Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa on Sunday.
