Hull City lead race to sign Millwall winger Femi Azeez
Hull City are reportedly leading the competition to sign Millwall winger Femi Azeez this summer, with the newly promoted Premier League club having moved ahead of several other interested sides.
According to The Sun, Hull have made progress in their pursuit of the Nigeria international as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the top flight.
Millwall have already turned down a £14.5m offer for Azeez during the current transfer window. The Lions are keen to retain one of their most important players after his influential performances during the 2025/26 campaign.
Hull’s reported interest comes after Ipswich Town also tried to secure Azeez’s services in January. However, Ipswich were unable to reach an agreement with Millwall over a deal for the winger.
Azeez, 25, enjoyed an impressive season despite Millwall falling short in their attempt to win promotion to the Premier League. He scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions for the club.
His form was recognised with selection for the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season, underlining his impact in the second tier.
The winger’s performances also earned him international recognition. Azeez was included in the Super Eagles squad that won the Unity Cup in May, adding an international honour to a standout campaign at club level.
Hull City are now understood to be at the front of the queue for his signature, although Millwall’s rejection of the £14.5m bid indicates the club will be reluctant to allow one of their key attacking players to leave without a significant offer.
The move would give Azeez the opportunity to pursue his ambition of playing in the Premier League after an impressive year with Millwall. He has previously expressed a desire to fulfil that goal.
For Hull, signing Azeez would represent a major addition as they prepare for life in the Premier League. The club are assessing their options in the summer market, while Millwall face the prospect of trying to keep a player who was central to their attacking output last season.
No agreement has been confirmed, but Hull’s reported position ahead of rival clubs makes them the leading contenders to complete a deal for the winger.
