Jayden Meghoma transfer rumour: Brentford defender linked with Club Brugge
English-Nigerian left-back Jayden Meghoma is the subject of a reported link between Brentford and Belgian side Club Brugge.
The 20-year-old is contracted to Brentford until 30 June 2028, meaning any move would need to be agreed with the Premier League club rather than completed as a free transfer. His current market value is listed at €2m.
Meghoma returned to Brentford on 31 May 2026 after spending the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Rangers. The spell in Scotland followed an earlier temporary move to Preston during the second half of the 2024-25 season.
He joined Brentford from Southampton Under-21s on 30 August 2024 in a deal worth €5.9m. The defender had previously been with Tottenham’s youth set-up before moving to Southampton.
Meghoma has made one Premier League appearance and has also featured in domestic cup competitions, while his recorded career statistics include 28 appearances in Premier League 2. His senior experience also includes time in the Championship, Scottish Premiership and Europa League.
Club Brugge play in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League, but there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
For now, Meghoma remains a Brentford player with two years left on his contract.
