Napoli confirm Victor Osimhen departure request – Reports

Victor Osimhen has told Italian side, Napoli he wants to leave, NigeriaFootball understand.

Napoli Sports Director, Giovanni Manna, confirmed that the reigning African Player of Year winner had wanted to leave the Club since last year.

“Victor is a player that wants to leave last year,” Manna told Sky Sports.

“There was already a situation in place. We are calm because we have guys in the squad to replace him.

“Osimhen is a strong player but we want to give integrity to the group and prefer to protect the group.

“We would see what happens in the next 20 days.”

The future of Osimhen has been uncertain since last season with potential suitors gradually backing out due to the huge price tag Napoli put on him.

With the league seasons across Europe set to start this month, Osimhen’s future of either leaving or staying at Napoli is expected to be sorted out before the end of the present transfer window.
