NWSL: Asisat Oshoala bags assist in Bay FC loss to Washington Spirit

Nigeria forward, Asisat Oshoala had an assist in her side’s first-ever loss in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) to Washington Spirit on Sunday.

She scored the winner during Bay FC’s first-ever game in the NWSL which ended 1-0 against Angel City FC last weekend.

The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year set up Dorian Bailey in the 11th minute for the first goal of the matchday two encounter at the Audi Field, Washington.

12 minutes later, Hal Hershfelt equalised for the hosts. With both sides destined for a draw, Croix Bethune converted the winning goal for Washington Spirit in the additional minutes of the second half.

Oshoala, who now has a goal and an assist in her first two league games for Bay FC played the duration of the match.

Bay FC occupy the sixth position on the log with three points after two games.

They have the same points as their opponents Washington Spirit in fifth position.
