Real Madrid raise Vinicius Junior contract offer and demand swift decision

Real Madrid have increased their contract offer to Vinicius Junior to 24m euros net per season and want an immediate response from the Brazil forward, as negotiations over a new deal remain unresolved.

Vinicius, 25, is under contract with Real Madrid until the end of next season, but his future has become uncertain amid strong interest from Arsenal during the current transfer window.

Representatives of the player held talks with Real Madrid on Wednesday in an effort to break the deadlock over an extension. The meeting involved the club’s director of football operations Jose Angel Sanchez and chief scout Juni Calafat, but no agreement was reached.

According to Mundo Deportivo, citing Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Real Madrid have now improved their initial proposal to a salary of 24m euros net per season. The proposed agreement would keep Vinicius at the club until 2031.

That figure remains below the 30m euros per season the player initially requested. However, AS has reported that Vinicius may have reduced his original demand by agreeing to include performance-related or other bonuses in the new contract. Real Madrid could be willing to accept that structure as part of a revised agreement.

The proposed renewal bonus is another issue still to be settled between the two parties. Image rights are also a point of disagreement. Those rights are currently shared equally between the player and the club, with each receiving 50%, but Vinicius wants a larger proportion for himself.

Despite the continued differences, there is greater optimism around the negotiations than there was a few days ago. The latest talks suggest that both sides remain open to reaching an agreement, although the main decision now rests with Vinicius.

Cadena SER reports that Real Madrid are seeking clarity quickly and want the Brazilian to respond to their improved offer without delay. The club are therefore waiting for Vinicius to decide whether the terms are sufficient to continue his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Arsenal are monitoring the situation and are waiting to discover the outcome of the negotiations. Their interest has added pressure to the discussions, although there has been no agreement between the Premier League club and Vinicius.

The Brazilian has become one of Real Madrid’s most important players since joining the club, but the uncertainty over his contract has left his long-term future unresolved.
