Real Madrid unveil dark green 2026-27 away kit featuring new cooling technology

Real Madrid have unveiled their away kit for the 2026-27 season – a dark green strip incorporating new cooling technology designed to help players maintain peak physical condition.

The Spanish giants revealed the shirt on Thursday, presenting a design that combines performance-focused innovation with a modern reinterpretation of a classic Real Madrid colour palette.

In an official statement, the club said: “يقدم ريال مدريد واديداس القميص الثاني للموسم 2026-27.

The new kit, produced in partnership with long-time technical sponsor Adidas, is available immediately in Real Madrid’s official stores and selected Adidas outlets.

Classic colours, modern twist

Real Madrid’s new away shirt features a deep green base, contrasted with ivory-white detailing, a combination the club and Adidas say draws on elements used in previous designs but reimagined to fit a contemporary aesthetic.

The subtle geometric pattern incorporating the club’s initials is intended to give the kit a distinctive identity, while the modern collar with its ivory trim aims to balance a sleek, minimalist look with a nod to traditional football shirt styling.

The prominent use of Adidas’ three-stripe branding is presented as a link between cutting-edge sports performance technology, the wider culture surrounding football, and off-pitch fashion.

High-performance design for elite competition

Real Madrid emphasised that the shirt has been conceived for use at the very highest level of the game, with functionality and comfort a central focus of the project.

Adidas’ climacool+ system is designed to manage sweat and enhance airflow through the fabric, aiming to keep players cooler and drier during matches and training sessions. The technology targets both moisture control and ventilation, key factors in maintaining performance, particularly in high-intensity fixtures or in warmer conditions.

The kit launch continues Real Madrid’s practice of releasing future-season shirts well in advance, giving supporters the opportunity to purchase and wear the new design before the campaign begins. The green away strip is expected to feature in domestic and European fixtures during the 2026-27 season, complementing the club’s traditional all-white home kit.

The announcement underlines the ongoing commercial and branding partnership between Real Madrid and Adidas, one of the most prominent and long-standing kit supplier relationships in world football.
