Roma target Real Madrid forward Endrick as Jose Mourinho considers striker’s future

Roma have expressed an interest in signing Real Madrid forward Endrick during the current summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their attack.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are exploring a deal that would bring the Brazil international to Italy on loan, with an option to buy included in the agreement. The club’s recruitment focus has turned towards Endrick as they assess possible attacking reinforcements.

Roma officials have travelled to Madrid to discuss whether a transfer could be completed during the current transfer window. Their presence in the Spanish capital reflects the seriousness of the Italian club’s interest, although the proposed move remains dependent on Real Madrid’s position and on Jose Mourinho’s assessment of the player.

Reports suggest Real Madrid are not currently open to negotiations over Endrick. The Spanish club have yet to show a willingness to consider the type of loan arrangement Roma are seeking, despite the forward not occupying a central role in Mourinho’s plans for the Real Madrid team.

Mourinho is understood to be taking time before reaching what could be a significant decision over Endrick’s future. The striker scored in Real Madrid’s friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday, but that contribution alone is not expected to determine whether he remains part of the squad.

Instead, Mourinho will assess Endrick again over the coming days before deciding whether the player should stay at Real Madrid or be allowed to leave. Roma are expected to be among the most enthusiastic clubs if Real Madrid eventually decide they are prepared to sanction a departure.

Endrick’s goal against Fiorentina has therefore not changed the wider uncertainty surrounding his position. While it provided the forward with an opportunity to make an impression, Mourinho’s evaluation will continue beyond that match before any final decision is made.

For Roma, the immediate preference is understood to be a loan agreement with the option of a permanent transfer. That structure would allow the Italian club to add Endrick to their attack while leaving the possibility of a longer-term deal open.

However, progress will depend first on whether Real Madrid change their current stance. The club’s reported reluctance to negotiate means Roma’s discussions in Madrid have not yet resulted in an agreement, and the proposed move remains at an exploratory stage.

Endrick will now await Mourinho’s judgement in the coming days. If the Real Madrid manager decides that the Brazilian is not central to his plans, Roma would be ready to push strongly to complete the transfer during the current summer market.
