“Shooting Stars appreciates Nurudeen Aweroro, Tammy Tamuno and Shakiru Lawal for their commitment, professionalism and contributions to the Club during their respective periods of service.

“In the interim, the other Assistant Coaches have been directed to take charge of the affairs of the Technical Department pending the appointment and announcement of a substantive Head Coach. The Club will communicate further developments in due course.”
Aweroro was appointed head coach of Shooting Stars before the start of the previous season. Under his leadership, the Oluyole Warriors finished third in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, during the 2025/26 campaign.
That final league position also earned the club a continental ticket, an achievement specifically recognised by Shooting Stars in its statement announcing the changes to the coaching structure.
Tamuno and Lawal have also now left the club as part of the same agreement. Shooting Stars thanked all three officials for their service and highlighted their commitment, professionalism and contribution during their time with the club.
The club has not yet named Aweroro’s permanent successor. Until a substantive head coach is appointed and announced, the remaining assistant coaches will oversee the affairs of the Technical Department.
Shooting Stars said it would provide further information on the next steps in due course.
