Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has singled out Nigerian striker Josh Maja as a potential threat ahead of his team’s upcoming Championship clash with West Bromwich Albion.
Maja has been in impressive form for the Baggies this season, netting 10 goals in 16 appearances, and currently sits second on the Championship scorers’ chart, just behind Norwich City’s Borja Sainz, who has 11 goals.
Le Bris acknowledged Maja’s goal-scoring ability and highlighted the importance of neutralizing him in their upcoming fixture at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night.
“He’s doing well this season, and he’ll probably play well again against us,” Le Bris said, as quoted by BBC.
“He’s a good striker, really smart, a good finisher, and he’ll definitely be a threat against us.”
As Sunderland prepares for the encounter, Le Bris’s focus will be on containing Maja, who has been a key player for West Brom this season. With both teams vying for crucial points, the Super Eagles forward’s form will be a key factor in determining the outcome of the match.
