Vinicius Junior suspended as Real Madrid name four absentees for Barcelona Clasico

Real Madrid will face Barcelona in the 10th round of La Liga without Brazil forward Vinicius Junior, who is serving a suspension, while three other players miss the Clasico through injury.

Manager Jose Mourinho announced his squad for the meeting, with Vinicius the most prominent absence from the Real Madrid group. His omission is disciplinary rather than related to a fitness problem, and the match will be the second of a four-game suspension.

The first two matches of the ban were imposed over an incident involving the pulling of Saliba’s hair during Real Madrid’s game against Villarreal. The remaining two were added because of Vinicius’ subsequent protests.

The appeals committee of the Spanish Football Federation upheld the punishment, meaning Vinicius is not expected to return to La Liga action until late November.

Real Madrid will also be without Rodrygo and Raul Asencio, who are continuing their recoveries from injury. Ferland Mendy has been left out despite having taken part in team training on more than one occasion.

The club published its 24 October 2026 squad for the fixture through its official channels.

Real Madrid’s squad for Barcelona is:

Goalkeepers: Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin, Mestre.

Defenders: Eder Militao, Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Cucurella, Alvaro Carreras, Antonio Rudiger, Dumfries.

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Arda Guler, Bernardo, Tiago.

Forwards: Endrick, Kylian Mbappe, Carlos Espe, Brahim Diaz, Yan Diomande.
