OFFICIAL: Emmanuel Dennis joins Blackburn Rovers on loan

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis has completed a loan move to Blackburn Rovers, currently sitting in fifth place in the EFL Championship.

The Nigerian international, who has found limited game time at the City Ground, will now look to reignite his career with Rovers as they continue their push for promotion.

Dennis joined Forest from Watford in the summer of 2022 but has made only 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and registering three assists.

Last season, Dennis spent time on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir in Turkey before returning to Watford for the second half of the campaign.

With Blackburn looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the promotion battle, the 26-year-old is expected to play a key role in their attacking setup.

“Rovers have concluded their transfer deadline day business with the loan signing of Nigeria international Emmanuel Dennis from Nottingham Forest,” the club said in a statement.

“Dennis will now hope to rediscover his goalscoring touch at Rovers after becoming our sixth signing of the January window. Welcome, Emmanuel!”

Dennis’ move to Blackburn marks the fourth time a Nigerian international has joined the club, following in the footsteps of former stars Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Dickson Etuhu, and Hope Akpan.
