NWFL Premiership Matchday 4: Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, FC Robo Maintain Perfect Starts

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens continued their flawless start to the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over debutants Pacesetter Queens on Wednesday.
Goals in each half from Blessing Ilivieda and Aminat Folorunsho sealed the Yenagoa-based side’s third consecutive win, keeping them firmly on top of their group.
In Benin City, Edo Queens also extended their winning run to three after four games, recording a 2-0 win over Adamawa Queens. Chioma Moses and Atume Doosuur scored in either half to hand the hosts their third straight victory, while ending Adamawa Queens’ unbeaten start to the campaign.
Still in the South-South, Rivers Angels edged Ibom Angels 1-0 in a keenly contested derby in Port Harcourt. A 51st-minute strike from Ramotalahi Kareem proved decisive as Tosan Blankson’s side secured their third straight win of the season.
In Abuja, Heartland Queens staged an impressive comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Naija Ratels FC. The hosts raced into a two-goal lead in the first half through Onu Markwell and Paulina Orshio, but second-half goals from Emmanuella James and Faith Samson within eight minutes restored parity. The result means Naija Ratels are still searching for their first win of the season.
Group B Actions
In Lagos, FC Robo Queens delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Dannaz Ladies 5-1 in both a Lagos and South-West derby at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Opeyemi Ajakaiye scored twice, while Kemi Adegbuyi, Tosin Rafiu, and Robiat Yusuf added the other goals to hand Emmanuel Osahon’s side their fourth consecutive victory. Augusta Chukwuma scored a consolation goal for Dannaz Ladies in the 26th minute.
In Asaba, Delta Queens defeated Confluence Queens 3-1. Destiny Itobore, Tsebee Rita Seember, and Amarachukwu Onuorah found the net for the hosts. Seember Emmanuel briefly restored parity for Confluence Queens, but Delta Queens proved too strong.
Elsewhere, honours were shared in two fixtures. Osun Babes and Remo Stars Ladies played out a goalless draw in Ile Ogbo, while debutants Ahudiyannem Queens were held to a 0-0 draw by Sunshine Queens in Umuahia.
Matchday 4 delivered dominant wins, dramatic comebacks, and tightly contested derbies as the NWFL Premiership season continues to gather momentum.
