Egyptian FA Hails Morocco’s ‘Outstanding’ Hosting of AFCON 2025

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has formally congratulated the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) on what it described as the “outstanding organization and remarkable success” of the Africa Cup of Nations, praising Morocco’s growing reputation as a leading host of major international football events.
In an official letter addressed to FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa, the EFA said the tournament’s success “clearly reflects the tremendous progress achieved by the Kingdom of Morocco in hosting and organizing major tournaments,” highlighting the high standards displayed in infrastructure, logistics, and overall coordination.
“The high level demonstrated by Morocco in organization, infrastructure, and logistical services is not merely a national achievement,” the EFA stated, adding that it represents “a source of pride for the entire Arab world and a model to be emulated in advancing African football toward greater professionalism and excellence.”
The Egyptian FA also praised the reception given to the Egyptian national team during the tournament, describing it as warm and deeply memorable.
“We commend the generous and welcoming popular reception accorded to the Egyptian national team in the Kingdom of Morocco,” the statement read. “It left a profound impression on all members of the delegation and reflected the depth of fraternal ties between the two brotherly peoples.”
EFA Chairman Eng. Hany Abo Rida emphasized that the association views the successful hosting of the tournament as part of a broader Arab contribution to football development on the continent.
“As we highly value this great effort, we are fully confident that the leaderships of Egypt and Morocco will continue to work together to realize the aspirations of the two brotherly nations,” Abo Rida said, stressing the shared ambition of “elevating the standing of Arab football at continental and international levels.”
The message from the EFA reinforces the strong institutional and cultural ties between Egyptian and Moroccan football authorities, as well as a shared commitment to collaboration in promoting the growth, professionalism, and global competitiveness of African and Arab football.
