Semi Ajayi Makes His Mark as Hull City Secure Point at Oxford

Semi Ajayi delivered a standout contribution on Matchday 40 of the EFL Championship, providing a crucial assist in Hull City’s 1-1 draw against Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.

Hull wasted no time asserting themselves, taking the lead just four minutes into the contest. Ajayi, showing composure and awareness from the back, set up Mohamed Belloumi for the opener, giving the visitors an early advantage and underlining his growing influence in the side.

Oxford United responded swiftly, however, drawing level in the 13th minute through Cameron Brannagan, who calmly converted from the penalty spot to restore parity. Despite chances at both ends, neither side could find a winner, and the points were ultimately shared.

For Ajayi, the assist marks another positive step in his Championship campaign. The Nigerian defender has now recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in 17 league appearances this season, contributing at both ends of the pitch while maintaining defensive solidity.

The result keeps Hull City firmly in the promotion race, sitting 5th on the table with 67 points from 40 matches. With the season entering its decisive phase, Ajayi’s experience and contributions could prove vital.

Hull City will look to build on this result when they host Coventry City on April 6, as they continue their push for a place in the Premier League.
