Alex Iwobi joins Premier League elite with 100 appearances for three clubs

The Premier League has recognised Alex Iwobi after the Fulham midfielder became only the fifth player in the competition’s history to make at least 100 appearances for three different clubs.

Iwobi reached the landmark with Fulham, having previously recorded 123 Premier League appearances for Everton and 100 for Arsenal. His career total includes a century of league games for each of the three clubs, placing him among a select group of players to achieve the feat.

The Nigeria international now shares that distinction with Premier League figures Gary Speed, Rory Delap, Gareth Barry and James Milner.

The Premier League celebrated the achievement on its official X account, posting: “A century. And again. And again. @FulhamFC’s Alex Iwobi becomes the 5th player to make 100+ appearances for 3 different clubs 💯.”

Iwobi’s appearance record has been built across spells with Arsenal, Everton and Fulham. He made 100 Premier League appearances for Arsenal before reaching 123 during his time with Everton. His Fulham tally has now also passed the 100-game mark, completing the sequence that has put him in the company of four Premier League legends.

The accomplishment adds to another significant milestone for Iwobi. He has also won 100 caps for Nigeria, meaning he has reached a century of appearances at both club and international level.

He achieved the double milestone at the age of 30, underlining the length and consistency of his career in the Premier League and with the Super Eagles.

The recognition from the Premier League places Iwobi in a very small group of players. Gary Speed, Rory Delap, Gareth Barry and James Milner were the first four players to make 100 or more appearances for three separate clubs in the competition before Iwobi joined them.

His record of 100 appearances for Arsenal, 123 for Everton and 100 for Fulham is the basis of the achievement highlighted by the league. Fulham’s Iwobi is therefore the latest player to reach the mark with three different Premier League sides.
