Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kun Khalifa have confirmed the departure of club captain Chikamso Amaefula and teammate Blessed Iyamu, with both players set to join fellow top-flight side Rivers United ahead of the new season.
The club announced that the duo are on the verge of completing their transfers to the Port Harcourt-based outfit as Rivers United continues to strengthen its squad for the upcoming campaign.
Amaefula leaves Kun Khalifa after serving as the team’s captain and establishing himself as one of the club’s most influential players both on and off the pitch. His leadership and consistency made him a key figure throughout his time with the club.
Iyamu also played an important role in the squad, contributing with a series of impressive performances that attracted the interest of Rivers United.
The expected arrival of the two players will provide a significant boost for Rivers United as they prepare for another competitive NPFL season and pursue their ambitions in domestic football.
