Alloy Agu impressed with Super Eagles performance despite Saudi Arabia draw

Ex International, Alloy Agu has expressed his excitement about Nigeria performance in 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia in an international friendly in Portugal on Friday evening.
The Super Eagles were forced to a 2-2 draw by the Arabian Falcons but Agu faulted Uzoho for conceding a miserable goal that gave Saudi Arabia the lead, while extolling the team’s overall display.
“I think Uzoho misjudged the ball that led to Saudi Arabia’s opening goal but then, I think he still performed very well,” Agu told Complete Sports.
“The team generally did a good job considering the fact that the game is meant to build the team.
“Every player gave a good account of themselves knowing fully well that Saudi Arabia is not a pushover team. So for me, it’s a good preparation game.”
Nigeria will face Mozambique in another exhibition game on October 16 2023 at Estadio Municipal de Albuferia, Portugal.
The Super Eagles will begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho on November 13 at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
