Akor Adams: Nigerian striker joins Venezia from Sevilla in €16m deal
Venezia have signed Nigeria forward Akor Adams from Sevilla in a €16m transfer, with the 26-year-old penning a contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2030. The centre-forward, who stands at 1.90m and is right-footed, moves to Italy after a season and a half in Spain.
Adams leaves Sevilla having featured in LaLiga and the Copa del Rey, part of a journey that has taken him through Norway and France before arriving in one of Europe’s leading leagues for a new challenge. His career path has seen steady steps upward, having first moved to Europe from Jamba F.A. to Norwegian side Sogndal, before impressing enough to earn a free transfer to Lillestrøm.
A prolific spell in Norway’s Eliteserien with Lillestrøm, where he scored 23 goals in 38 league games, led to a move to Montpellier in Ligue 1. Adams found the net in France’s top flight before Sevilla secured his services in January 2025. Across his time in Norway, France and Spain, he has reached double figures for league goals in each of the Eliteserien, Ligue 1 and LaLiga.
Born in Kogi State on 29 January 2000, Adams arrives at Venezia as a centre-forward with experience of top-flight football in three different European countries and appearances in European qualifying competition. The Nigerian’s move from Sevilla to Venezia is a permanent transfer, confirmed on 22 July 2026, and ties him to the Serie A club for the next four seasons.
