By Wale Mustapha
Nigerian defender, Kevin Akpoguma has described Hoffenheim’s 1-1 draw against Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga as deserving.
The Village Club rallied late to share the spoils in the encounter decided at the Signal Iduna Park.
Nick Woltemade gave Stuttgart the lead in the opening ninth minute of the encounter before Gift Orban even the score line for the visitors in the 74th minute.
Akpoguma who commended his teammates for their spirited performances asked for improvement in their defense.
“It was a deserved point. Stuttgart were better in the first half, but in the second half we had more passion and more energy.
“We earned the goal through good pressing, we even had a chance to win, but the draw was fine.
“We were asleep when they scored, we need to defend better. Stuttgart has enormous quality in attack,” Akpoguma said.
Hoffenheim will host Bochum in their next game on Saturday.
