Nigeria U20 team delegation have finally arrived in San Juan, the venue for their 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup Round of 16 clash with Argentina on Tuesday afternoon.
The arrival comes nine hours later than when Nigeria was to arrive in the west-central provincial part of Argentina.
The Flying Eagles were in La Plata following their 2-0 defeat to Brazil and expected to depart Sheraton Hotel in Bueno Aires in the morning.
The delay has caused the Flying Eagles to miss an official training session at the match venue for tomorrow’s clash.
However, NFF took to social media to confirm the safely arrival of the team, with no explanation for the delays.
“Players and officials of the Flying Eagles have finally settled in at San Juan, venue of the RD game with Argentina,” the NFF wrote on its official twitter handle.
“The team was to depart Buenos Aires for San Juan by 9am Monday morning but the flight was delayed until 6pm.  No explanation was given for the delay”
Nigeria gained the Round of 16 ticket after placing third in Group D of the ongoing FIFA Under-20 World Cup behind the group leaders, Brazil and runners-up, Italy.
