Nigeria defender, Kevin Akpoguma is expected to return to Hoffenheim’s squad ahead of this weekend’s league           encounter with RB Leipzig.

The Nigerian defender had a nose injury after contact with an opponent last weekend during his side’s loss to FC Cologne.

His manager, Pellegrino Matarazzo has confirmed that the centre-back is in line to return for the team’s next game away at Leipzig.

“Kevin Akpoguma is training with a mask after his nasal bone fracture from the game against FC Cologne and is therefore an option for the game,” Matarazzo told the club website.

Akpoguma has played 25 league games for the German Bundesliga side this season as the team attempt to escape relegation.

Matarazzo’s side seats in the 14th position on the table with 29 points after 29 games.

It is just four points and two places above the relegation zone ahead of this weekend’s game.
