Ibrahim Olawoyin attracts Al-Taawoun interest as Saudi clubs monitor Rizespor midfielder
Nigerian midfielder Ibrahim Olawoyin has been linked with a move from C. Rizespor to Saudi Pro League club Al-Taawoun.
The reported switch emerged on 3 August, with Olawoyin’s future attracting attention despite the 28-year-old remaining under contract with the Turkish Super Lig side until 30 June 2027. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported.
Olawoyin plays in central midfield and has been part of C. Rizespor’s squad in Turkey’s top flight. Al-Taawoun are continuing to assess options for the Saudi Pro League, where the club could seek to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new campaign.
The Nigerian joined C. Rizespor’s current set-up and has established himself in Turkish football, but the reported interest from Saudi Arabia could create a decision over whether he remains in the Super Lig or pursues a move abroad.
His market value is listed at €2.2m, although that figure does not indicate the size of any potential offer or the terms of negotiations between the clubs.
Olawoyin’s contract gives C. Rizespor control of his situation for a further season beyond the current campaign. The link with Al-Taawoun remains a rumour, with the midfielder still contracted to the Turkish club until June 2027.
