Louis Saha urges Manchester United to sign Victor Osimhen

By Monsurah Olatunji

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has called on the Red Devils to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen this summer, citing the Nigerian’s impressive performances and leadership qualities as the solution to United’s ongoing struggles in front of goal.

United’s attacking woes have been well-documented, with the team on track to have their lowest-scoring league campaign since 1990, despite significant investment in attacking players over the past two seasons.

Saha believes that a striker of Osimhen’s caliber could provide the missing spark.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in stunning form this season, netting 26 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, and with Napoli eager to offload him after a falling-out with manager Antonio Conte, Osimhen’s future looks set to be one of the most talked-about transfers of the summer.

Despite his ongoing loan, Osimhen remains contracted to Napoli until June 2027, following the signing of a one-year contract extension before his move to Galatasaray.

His release clause, reportedly set between €75-80 million (£68m), makes him a potentially attainable target for top European clubs, including Manchester United.

Saha, a longtime admirer of the 26-year-old striker, praised Osimhen’s character and experience at the highest level of football.

Speaking in an interview with Genting Casino, the former French international said, “Osimhen, I’m a big fan. He’s a big character.

“He has experience at a very top level. He has to be managed, that’s for sure, because as I said, he’s a big character, but he’s the type of player that can bring you something.”

With Manchester United looking to bolster their attacking options, Saha’s endorsement of Osimhen could be the catalyst for a potential summer move, should the club decide to pursue the Nigerian striker.
