Mbappe and Dembele set to attend 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony in London

Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele will attend Monday evening’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in London, according to French broadcaster RMC.
Mbappe is due to travel to the British capital after representing Real Madrid against Barcelona in Sunday’s clasico. Dembele, who won the award last year, is also expected to make the journey in the coming hours.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward will not be involved when his club face Olympique Lyonnais on Monday evening because of a thigh injury. His expected appearance in London means he will again attend the ceremony despite missing a Paris Saint-Germain match taking place on the same night.
The presence of the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain delegation remains uncertain. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is expected to undergo surgery shortly, possibly in Doha, to treat an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee.
There is also no confirmation that captain Marquinhos will travel. He suffered a right-thigh injury during Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-2 meeting with Barcelona.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who regularly visits London for professional reasons, is expected to make a final decision on his attendance at the last minute.
Paris Saint-Germain will once again play on the evening of the Ballon d’Or ceremony. Last year, the club also had a fixture on the same night, losing 1-0 to Olympique de Marseille.
Dembele’s likely trip to London follows the same pattern as last year. Although he is carrying a thigh injury and will miss Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Olympique Lyonnais, he is expected to be present as the 2026 award is presented.
The ceremony is attracting additional interest because the leading contenders are closely matched, making the outcome of the 2026 Ballon d’Or particularly difficult to predict.
