Nigeria join nine teams to qualify for 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations

Nigeria’s U20 men’s national team clinched a 3-1 win against Niger Republic in the semi-finals of the 2024 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Qualifiers for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Flying Eagles’s victory was significant as it not only advanced Nigeria to the final but also ensured their qualification for the 2025 U-20 AFCON, alongside fellow finalist Ghana.

In total, eight teams have secured their spots for the tournament across various regions. From the West Africa Zone A (WAFU-A), Senegal and Sierra Leone have also qualified.

The Central Africa zone (UNIFFAC) will be represented by the two Congos: the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Congo Brazzaville.

In the East Africa region (CECACAFA), Kenya and Tanzania earned their qualifications, while South Africa and Zambia advanced from the Southern Africa zone (COSAFA). The stage is now set for an exciting U-20 AFCON tournament in 2025!
