NPFL: Governor Alex Otti gifts Abia Warriors bus and cash ahead of new season

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti has donated a 32-seater Coaster Bus to Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia.

The state governor made the pronouncement during a reception ceremony he organized for the 2024 President Federation Cup runners-up at his country home at Nvosi.

During the presentation, he assured the club of increased government support from the State Government and the Dr Alex Otti Foundation, among others.

Otti congratulated the Chairman, Board, Managementnt, and players of the Club for reaching the finals of the President Federation Cup for the first time in the club’s history and promised that Abia Warriors would take delivery of the bus next week.

The State Chief Executive, who was visibly pleased, assured that other needs of the club would be taken care of.

Earlier, the Abia State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, reserved special commendation for the Chairman of Abia Warriors, Coach John Obuh, for the progress made by the club and also commended the Executive Governor for his immense support for the club.

Former Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika Rtd., who was a special guest during the ceremony, commended the club for their President Federation Cup feat and pledged a sumptuous cash gift to the Warriors.

The Chief Coach of Abia Warriors, Coach Bethel Oji, who guided the Warriors to achieve the President Federation Cup feat, was full of gratitude to the governor for being there for the club, especially during challenging times.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a medal and Abia Warriors replica jerseys to the Governor by Coach John Obuh and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba.

Abia Warriors will start their NPFL campaign for the 2024/2025 season against Remo Stars on September 7, 2024, in Umuahia.
