RS Berkane secure CAF Champions League group-stage place after double over Star Sport

RS Berkane have reached the group stage of the CAF Champions League after completing a 3-0 aggregate victory over Sierra Leone’s Star Sport.

The Moroccan side followed up their 2-0 away win in the first leg with a 1-0 victory in the return match at home, progressing from the round of 32 without conceding.

Youssef Mehri scored the decisive goal in the second leg in the 53rd minute, striking powerfully from inside the penalty area.

RS Berkane reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League last season, where they were eliminated by fellow Moroccan club AS FAR.
