Reigning African Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen, has emerged as the top goalscorer for Galatasaray in the 2024/25 Turkish Süper Lig and across all competitions.
The 25-year-old striker joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli in the summer, after a late transfer window move by both Saudi Arabian clubs and English Premier League side Chelsea failed to materialize.
Osimhen’s early days in Istanbul were far from perfect, as the Nigerian international struggled to find the back of the net in his first three games across all competitions. Despite this, he still contributed three assists during that period, proving his value to the team.
Now, however, the Super Eagles star is making his mark in a league where his idol, Didier Drogba, also left an indelible legacy. Osimhen has netted six goals and provided two assists in just seven Süper Lig matches, becoming the team’s top scorer in the league.
He is currently two goals ahead of his nearest competitor, Mauro Icardi, who recently sustained an injury during Galatasaray’s UEFA Europa League clash against Tottenham.
Osimhen’s fine form extends beyond the league, as he leads the goal tally for coach Okan Buruk’s side in all competitions. With eight goals and four assists in just ten appearances this season, the Napoli star continues to shine and has quickly established himself as a key figure in Galatasaray’s attack.
