“We knew how to beat Kwara United” – Agagbe boasts after Lobi Stars’ win in Ilorin

Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars, Eugene Agagbe was not surprised his side were able to record a convincing 2-0 victory over Kwara United in the  Nigeria Premier Football League contest in Ilorin on Sunday.

Two first half goals, an own goal and the other from Stanley Ogabor stretched Kwara United’s horrible season and their first first defeat at home in the ongoing campaign.

An elated Agagbe who commended his boys for their solid performance added that the target was to beat the home team to broaden their chances of top three finish.

“I thank the players for the hard work. However, they will need to work harder because our aim was to be among the first three at the end of the season, to win a continental ticket,” the tactician told media.

“Our target coming to Ilorin was to beat Kwara United. We knew how to beat them, anywhere, I have a better team, going by the statistics, even before the game today. We are more organised with the right technical and tactical discipline.

Lobi Stars retained their joint top position on the log haven garnered the same points as Remo Stars but placed second based on goal differences.

Their next domestic match comes up against Kano Pillars in Lafia next Sunday.
