Stanley Eguma given ‘win or bounce’ ultimatum by Enyimba management

By Wale Mustapha

Enyimba FC’s management has handed technical adviser Stanley Eguma a two-game ultimatum following the team’s disappointing start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The nine-time NPFL champions have struggled in the early stages of the campaign, recording just three wins, four draws, and three defeats from their opening ten matches.

Their latest setback came last Sunday in a 2-1 loss to Plateau United in Jos, a result that has left the club’s leadership dissatisfied.

After a thorough review of the team’s performance against Plateau United, Enyimba’s management issued an ultimatum, demanding that Eguma lead the club to victory in their next two fixtures, against Kano Pillars and Abia Warriors.

“Enyimba FC is a club with a proud winning tradition and a strong expectation of excellence,” the club stated through its media department.

“While we acknowledge the efforts of the technical crew so far, the current run of results does not reflect the club’s ambition. The management expects an immediate response and improved performance, beginning with Sunday’s home fixture against Kano Pillars.”

Eguma will now be under intense pressure to deliver results or face possible consequences, with the next two matches set to be pivotal in determining his future at the helm of the People’s Elephants.
