Paul Onuachu upbeat about Southampton’s Premier League relegation survival
By Wale Mustapha
Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu has vowed to help his new Premier League club Southampton beat the drop at the end of this season.
Onuachu joined the Saints on deadline day after he signed a three-and-a-half year contract and the English side desperately seek to maintain top-flight status, sitting bottom of the Premier League table.
Onuachu who made his debut on Saturday as a second half substitute after replacing Mohamed Elyounoussi against Brentford said he’s ready for the challenge and will give his best to help the club.
“I’m very motivated, it’s a huge challenge,” he told the club’s official website.
“Coming here we are last on the table and everybody is working to really try to leave the relegation zone.
“It’s a huge challenge, not just for me but for everybody on the team. I’m going to give it all if I have the chance to play, and try to help the team to survive.”
Southampton’s next game is at St. Mary’s Stadium against Wolves.
