Emmanuel Osahon not getting carried away by Robo Queens win at Nasarawa Amazons

By Saheed Afolabi
Head coach of Robo Queens, Emmanuel Osahon says the team is almost at where they want to be as he insists qualifying for the Nigeria Women’s Football League Super Six remains the club’s ultimate goal this season.
Robo Queens’ chance of sealing a Super Six spot got a major boost as they earned a massive three points in a 1-0 victory at Nasarawa Amazons at Snake Farm stadium, Keffi.
Following the stunning away win against the Solid Babes, the Edo State born tactician insists his players are not getting carried away despite their second away win of the NWFL Premiership campaign.
“The victory is highly important to me because it’s making us to work towards getting a place in the Super Six. So the victory goes a long way for the team,” Osahon told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“When we get to the bridge, we will know how to cross, right now, we have crossed the bridge in Nasarawa, the victory in Nasarawa has given me an edge that if we put in more effort, we are almost there.
“I’m satisfied with the girls performance away from home, at least. Our Lagos FA Cup was a good preparation towards the match against Nasarawa because they are one of the best teams in Nigeria.
“They’re not a pushover and for the girls to come all out and win the match convincingly by a lone goal, at least it’s a plus for the team.
“We are working towards perfection in the defense, for the defense not to have conceded any goal in two matches, doesn’t really mean they are the best but they are working towards being perfect.
“What’s in football is trying to be better than yesterday and we are trying to improve on what we have been doing.”
For the first time this season, the Lagos Landladies top the NWFL Premiership abridged group B with 16 points from nine matches.
Robo Queens will square up against Edo Queens in Benin on the 29th of March at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin.
