Adel Boublina ended an eight-month wait for an international goal as Algeria fought back from two goals down against Burundi in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Saudi Al-Diriyah forward scored Algeria’s second goal on Tuesday with a superb direct free-kick, helping his side level the match within a few minutes after Burundi had taken a 2-0 lead.

It was Boublina’s first goal for Algeria since 6 January, when he scored the winner against DR Congo in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
