Alex Iwobi backs Barcelona’s “scary” attack to outgun Inter Milan in UCL semis

By Dayo Awoniyi

Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has thrown his weight behind Barcelona to reach the UEFA Champions League final, backing the Spanish side’s electrifying attack to overcome Inter Milan in the semifinal showdown.

Barcelona booked their place in the last four after a commanding performance against Borussia Dortmund, setting up a blockbuster clash with Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Speaking on the matchup, the Fulham star acknowledged the strength of Inter’s backline and the influence of star striker Lautaro Martinez but insisted Barcelona’s firepower would prove decisive.

“It’s tough because Inter are solid at the back, and Lautaro Martinez is a very good focal point,” Iwobi admitted.

“But I’m going with Barcelona. Their attacking play is scary — it’s free-flowing and very aggressive.”

The former Arsenal man highlighted the depth of attacking talent at Barça’s disposal, singling out standout performers like Raphinha, teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, and impact substitutes Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo.

“They’re creative going forward and exciting to watch. Any defence will struggle to keep them quiet,” he added.

Barcelona are now just two games away from a potential return to the Champions League final — a stage they haven’t reached since their 2015 triumph.
