Galatasaray ready to match Victor Osimhen salary in bid for Bruno Fernandes

Galatasaray are prepared to offer Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes the same salary as Victor Osimhen as they intensify their attempt to take the Portugal midfielder to Turkey, according to Soccernet.ng.

The Turkish champions have identified Fernandes as a major transfer target and are willing to make a substantial financial commitment to secure the 31-year-old’s signature. The midfielder remains one of the most important players at Old Trafford, but uncertainty surrounding his contract has encouraged interest from Galatasaray.

According to Galatasaray insider Emre Kaplan, the club are ready to match the package currently offered to Osimhen as they put together a proposed deal for Fernandes.

Osimhen is the highest-paid player in Galatasaray’s squad. The Nigeria international, who previously played for Napoli, earns a guaranteed net salary of €15m a year – more than ₦26bn. His overall annual package can rise to €21m when additional payments are included.

Those additions include a €1m loyalty bonus and €5m in image-rights payments.

Galatasaray’s willingness to place Fernandes on the same financial terms highlights the scale of their ambition and the importance they attach to signing the Manchester United captain. It would also represent a major statement of intent from Okan Buruk’s side as they seek to strengthen their squad for domestic and European competition.

The club are keen to make another high-profile addition after rivals Fenerbahce signed Romelu Lukaku and Mason Greenwood. Fernandes would give Galatasaray another globally recognised player and enhance an attacking group that already includes Osimhen.

The Portugal international has become widely regarded as Manchester United’s most influential player since the end of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign. His arrival in Istanbul would therefore be considered a significant coup for the Turkish champions.

Galatasaray are building a squad designed to compete for domestic honours while also making a stronger impression in Europe. Pairing Osimhen’s goalscoring ability with Fernandes’ creativity would provide the club with another high-level attacking and playmaking option.

The main obstacle, however, is likely to be reaching an agreement with Manchester United rather than negotiating personal terms with Fernandes.

United are understood to value their captain highly and have little interest in allowing one of their key players to leave. Fernandes’ contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next season, but the club’s position means Galatasaray would still face a difficult task if they attempt to complete a transfer.

Matching Osimhen’s salary could become an important factor if Fernandes decides he is open to moving away from Manchester. The financial terms would give Galatasaray a strong platform from which to make their approach, although they would still need Manchester United’s agreement.

For now, Osimhen remains the benchmark at the top of Galatasaray’s wage structure. The club are ready to assemble a package of similar value in the hope of making Fernandes their next marquee signing.
