Gift Orban scores and assists as Amedspor overturn Samsunspor deficit

Gift Orban scored from the penalty spot and set up the winning goal as Amedspor came from behind to beat Samsunspor 2-1 in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Nigerian striker’s latest decisive display took his league tally to eight goals this season and helped Amedspor secure all three points after Samsunspor had taken the lead.

Samsunspor moved ahead to establish a 1-0 advantage, leaving Amedspor needing a response at home. Orban supplied it in the second half, keeping his composure to convert a penalty and bring the score level at 1-1.

The spot-kick extended a strong run of goalscoring performances from the forward and gave Amedspor renewed momentum as they searched for a second goal.

Orban then made his contribution in the final third count in another way. Rather than finishing the move himself, he provided the assist for Dia Saba, who scored the goal that completed Amedspor’s comeback and secured the victory.

The Nigerian was therefore directly involved in both of Amedspor’s goals, combining his finishing ability with his capacity to create opportunities for team-mates.

His eight league goals underline his importance to Amedspor’s attacking plans, while the assist for Saba demonstrated the wider influence he can have in closely contested matches.

Amedspor’s response to falling behind also reflected their determination to avoid settling for a draw. After Orban had restored parity, they continued to press for a winner and were rewarded when Saba converted the chance created by the Nigerian forward.

The result gives Amedspor another positive outcome in their league campaign, with Orban again providing the moments that shaped the match.

Sports247 reported that the striker’s performance further highlighted his growing importance to the side. His latest goal and assist add to a sequence of influential contributions for a Nigerian footballer competing abroad.

Orban’s ability to affect matches as both a goalscorer and creator offers Amedspor an important attacking outlet, particularly in encounters decided by individual moments.

With eight Turkish Super Lig goals and another match-winning contribution to his name, Orban continues to establish himself as a key figure in Amedspor’s efforts to secure positive results.
