Mohamed Salah unveiled by Trabzonspor in front of 30,000 fans
Mohamed Salah was presented as a Trabzonspor player in front of more than 30,000 supporters at Papara Park, with fans chanting the name of the “Egyptian King” during a spectacular ceremony described as a landmark night for the Turkish club.
The atmosphere at the stadium was unlike anything Trabzonspor had previously experienced as the club officially began a new era with the arrival of the Egypt captain.
Salah has signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor that will run until the summer of 2028. He appeared on the pitch wearing the number 10 shirt alongside club president Ertugrul Dogan, as the unveiling attracted widespread attention across the sporting world.
The supporters erupted as soon as Salah walked on to the field, filling Papara Park with chants and applause. The former Liverpool forward responded by going directly towards the stands to share the moment with the crowd before leading the supporters in chants himself.
The scenes highlighted the immediate connection between Salah and the Trabzonspor fans, who have greeted his arrival with huge enthusiasm.
‘My goal is clear: to win’
Speaking to the supporters, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan said: “Our global star represents a valuable addition to our team. Welcome to our big community, and I thank every one of you for this historic attendance.”
Salah then addressed the crowd and said he had been overwhelmed by the reception.
“Welcome everyone. I wish I could speak Turkish to describe what I feel, but let me express it this way,” he said.
The Egypt international continued: “What I am seeing today is something I have never experienced in my life. The love you showed me yesterday and today was enormous. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I am extremely happy to be here, and my goal is clear: to win. I am very excited to start training and play matches in the Trabzonspor shirt.”
Salah ended his comments by underlining the scale of the welcome he had received.
“I have never seen anything like this before,” he said, before saluting the Trabzonspor supporters.
The ceremony formally marked the start of Salah’s new journey with the Turkish club, with the reception at Papara Park setting high expectations among Trabzonspor fans for what is to come.
