Nigeria trio shine as ZED FC reach Egypt Women’s Cup semifinals

Nigeria trio Cynthia Onyedikachi, Yetunde Fajobi, and Chinaza Agoh found the back of the net as ZED FC defeated Zamalek SC 4-2 on penalties in the quarter-final of Egypt Women’s Cup on Tuesday.

Both sides played out a 3-3 draw in regulation time before penalties.

Onyedikachi, Malak Zidan, and Fajobi scored for Zamalek SC.

Agoh scored two goals while Joy Emad also converted for ZED FC.

ZED FC won the game of wills 4-3 on penalties to make it to the semifinals.

They will face former Egyptian Women’s Premier League champions, Wadi Degla in the last four

The second semifinals will witness the top two teams in the women’s top flight as FC Masar be Al Ahly will square up.

It will also witness two Nigerians face off against each other as Charity Reuben (Al Ahly) trades tackles with Alice Ogebe (FC Masar).
