Real Madrid transfer presentation plans remain unclear despite new signings joining training
Real Madrid have yet to officially present any of their summer arrivals, leaving the club’s plans for introducing new manager Mourinho and six players uncertain despite all seven already being involved with the club in some capacity.
The Spanish club completed deals for Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva, Espi and Yan Diomande during the summer transfer window. However, none of the new arrivals has been presented in the traditional manner, including Mourinho, who became the first of the club’s new signings in June.
The uncertainty has continued even though all of the players are now at the club’s training base at Valdebebas and have joined preparations for the new season. One of the six players is also understood to be the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history, adding further interest to the delay.
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, every new arrival has already spoken to the club’s official media channels. Those interviews have not, however, been accompanied by a formal presentation event, either at the training ground or at Santiago Bernabeu.
There had been speculation that Real Madrid would introduce the new signings after the World Cup. That expectation was not fulfilled, and the absence of any announcement has turned the presentations into an ongoing mystery.
One possibility being discussed is that the club could present all of the new arrivals together in a single event at Santiago Bernabeu. No confirmation has been given, though, and the idea remains only a rumour.
There was also speculation that Mourinho’s presentation might coincide with the release of his documentary on Netflix. The film is due to be released today, but there has been no information indicating that the manager will be officially presented at the same time.
Real Madrid, Mourinho and the players themselves have shown little public urgency over the issue throughout the summer. Their lack of apparent interest has prompted further questions about why the formal introductions have not taken place, although it does not necessarily mean that the presentations have been cancelled.
For now, the club has provided no confirmed details about the arrangements. Mundo Deportivo reports that there is currently no scheduled date, venue or time for the official presentations of Real Madrid’s new signings.
The players are therefore already training with their new team, and the club’s summer recruitment programme is under way, but the customary public unveiling of the arrivals remains unresolved. Until Real Madrid issue an announcement, it is not known whether the signings will be presented individually, together at Santiago Bernabeu, or at another location and time.
