Seun Ogunribide seals Mogadishu City move after leaving Kwara United

Nigeria-Benin defender Seun Ogunribide has joined Somali side Mogadishu City on a free transfer from Kwara United. The 22-year-old left-back switches from the Nigeria Premier Football League to the Horn of Africa following the expiry of his deal with the Ilorin club.

Ogunribide, who can operate along the left side of defence, becomes one of the latest NPFL exports to move abroad, with his market value currently assessed at around €25,000. His arrival gives Mogadishu City a youthful option on the flank as they look to strengthen their back line with players experienced in a competitive West African league.

The move to Mogadishu ends Ogunribide’s spell at Kwara United, where he developed his senior career and earned a reputation as a reliable option at full-back. Having spent his early years in Nigeria’s top flight, the transfer marks his first venture outside the country.

Eligible to represent both Nigeria and Benin at international level, Ogunribide now steps into a new football environment as he targets the next stage of his development in East Africa.

The left-back’s free transfer from Kwara United to Mogadishu City was completed on 24 July 2026.
