Taye Taiwo urges Lazio to sign Dele-Bashiru permanently

By Monsurah Olatunji

Former Nigeria international, Taye Taiwo has urged Italian top-flight side, Lazio to make Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s move permanent following his outstanding performance this season.
The Nigerian star joined Lazio on loan from Turkish outfit Hatayspor in the summer of 2024 with an option to buy for a fee of around €4 million at the end of the current season.
The forward has been in sensational form, scoring Lazio’s first goal against Atalanta in their 1-1 draw, with his team currently fourth on the Serie A table.
The Super Eagles star has shown his quality, scoring four goals and providing two assists in all competitions for Lazio so far.
Speaking in an interview with Africa Foot, the 39-year-old legend stated the midfielder has done enough to convince the club to sign him.
He noted that Serie A offers a more glamorous environment compared to Turkey.
“I would prefer him to sign for Lazio because the scene is much more prestigious,” he said per Africa Foot.
“He has already proved his worth since his arrival, with five-goal contributions in 13 games for a midfielder. This represents a great opportunity, for Dele-Bashiru, Lazio, and Hatayspor.”
