Vinicius Junior commits future to Real Madrid until 2032
Vinicius Junior has broken his silence after agreeing a new contract with Real Madrid, ending a lengthy period of negotiations over his future at the Spanish club.
The Brazil forward confirmed the deal with a message on Instagram, writing: “8 years at the Bernabeu, it’s far too short… 6 more years and forever.”
Real Madrid announced that an agreement had been reached to extend Vinicius Junior’s contract, keeping him at the club until 30 June 2032.
The renewal concludes an extended period of uncertainty surrounding the 25-year-old, whose previous contract was due to expire next summer. Arsenal had shown growing interest in the player, while Real Madrid had become increasingly concerned about the possibility of losing him for free when his deal ended in the summer of 2027.
Negotiations between Vinicius Junior and the club continued for a considerable period before Real Madrid succeeded in securing his long-term commitment. The new agreement will keep one of the club’s most important attacking players at the Santiago Bernabeu for another six seasons.
Vinicius Junior joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 from Brazil, arriving at the age of 18. Since then, he has established himself as a key figure in the club’s first team and has spent eight seasons wearing the famous white shirt.
During that time, he has made 375 appearances for Real Madrid and scored 128 goals. He has also won 14 trophies with the club.
The announcement brings an end to speculation that had surrounded the forward’s position at Real Madrid. His previous deal had created the possibility of a major departure, particularly with interest from Arsenal and the prospect of the player becoming available without a transfer fee.
Instead, Real Madrid have agreed terms that will tie Vinicius Junior to the club until the end of June 2032. His social media message reflected both his attachment to the Bernabeu and his desire to continue his career in Madrid.
By writing that eight years at the stadium had been “far too short”, before adding “6 more years and forever”, Vinicius Junior offered his first public reaction to the conclusion of the contract saga.
The new deal ensures that his future will remain with Real Madrid for the foreseeable future, following months of talks between the player and the club.
