Enyimba FC’s Technical Adviser, Yemi Olanrewaju, has expressed his disappointment with the officiating in his side’s goalless draw against Enugu Rangers on Tuesday, criticizing the performance of the match officials.
The People’s Elephants were unable to secure a win in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 15 encounter held in Aba, despite dominating much of the game. Enyimba had a goal disallowed by the center referee, much to Olanrewaju’s frustration.
The young manager lamented the decision and expressed hope for better officiating in the future.
“We scored a goal, but whatever the referee’s reason for cancelling that goal, it’s quite unfortunate,” Olanrewaju said during the post-match press conference in Aba.
“We hope this league improves so that when a team puts in effort, they can see the fruits of that effort.”
