Ibom Angels FC’s Abigail Awak Shines with Match-Winning Goal

In Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, Ibom Angels FC triumphed over Naija Ratels FC with a score of 2-1.
The encounter took place at Uyo Township Stadium, where Naija Ratels FC’s Sofiat Bankole opened the scoring in the 30th minute, giving her team an advantage in the first half.
Nevertheless, Ibom Angels FC mounted a comeback in the second half. A penalty was awarded after Ijeoma Onweagba was fouled in the penalty area, which Chioma Ashiegbu successfully converted to level the match.
The Orange Ladies maintained their offensive pressure, and Abigail Awak clinched the victory with a decisive goal in the 69th minute from within the 18-yard box.
This victory is a significant achievement for Ibom Angels FC, highlighting their resilience and skill.
Abigail Awak’s winning goal marked her second appearance of the season, following her debut in Matchday 10.
The match was characterized by intense competition, with both teams experiencing the dismissal of a player due to red cards.
