AFCON 2023: Leicester City celebrates Iheanacho’s decisive penalty for Nigeria

English Championship side, Leicester City have identified with Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho for sending the Super Eagles to the final of 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
The Super Eagles got better of South Africa in the semifinal decided in Bouake after Jose Peseiro’s side win 4-2 via penalty shootout on Wednesday.
William Troost-Ekong’s spot kick midway in the second half was cancelled out by Mokoena’s stoppage time penalty.
However, Iheanacho, who currently plays his club football at Leicester, scored the decisive penalty to send Nigeria to the AFCON final.
Reacting, Leicester City, in a post via their X account after the game wrote: “Seniorman sends Nigeria through!”
The Super Eagles will be taking on hosts Ivory Coast in the final slated for Felix Houphet Boigney Stadium, Ebimpe in Abidjan on Sunday.
