Cristiano Ronaldo becomes Al Nassr’s record Saudi Pro League scorer
Cristiano Ronaldo played down his own contribution after becoming Al Nassr’s all-time leading scorer in the Saudi Pro League, saying the milestone would have been impossible without the help of his team-mates and the backing of the club’s supporters.
The Portugal forward reached the landmark by scoring Al Nassr’s goal in their victory over Al Taawoun. That strike took his league tally for the club to 104 goals, moving him beyond the previous record of 103 set by Mohammed Al-Sahlawi.
Speaking to the Saudi network Thmanyah after the match, Ronaldo said: “I am very happy, it is a great achievement, but it is not only for Cristiano. I have to thank my team-mates, because without them it would have been impossible to achieve this.”
Ronaldo also paid tribute to Al Nassr’s supporters, highlighting the encouragement he has received since moving to the Saudi Pro League.
“I am also happy for the fans, they support me all the time, and I am very proud of this support. Thank you,” he said.
The record adds to the remarkable scoring numbers Ronaldo has produced since joining Al Nassr and confirms his position as the club’s most prolific player in the Saudi Pro League. He required fewer matches than Al-Sahlawi to reach 104 goals, underlining the strength of his scoring rate since arriving in Saudi Arabia.
Rather than presenting the achievement as an individual success, Ronaldo stressed the collective effort behind it. His comments placed his team-mates and supporters at the centre of the celebrations after another significant moment in a career that continues to generate records.
The Al Nassr captain remains an important part of the club’s plans as the team attempts to compete for silverware this season. He has continued to score and contribute to victories, while Al Nassr made a strong start by winning each of their first four matches.
That opening run has strengthened the expectation around the club, with Ronaldo still central to their ambitions on the pitch. His latest goal not only secured another important result against Al Taawoun but also gave him sole possession of a club scoring record previously held by Al-Sahlawi.
For Ronaldo, however, the achievement was presented less as a personal triumph than as the product of a shared effort. His message after the match was clear: the record belonged in part to the players who created the opportunities and the supporters who have backed him throughout his time in the Saudi Pro League.
