Moses Garners Above-Average Rating as Courtois Faces Criticism in Chelsea's Defeat to Barcelona

In a UEFA Champions League encounter that saw Chelsea bow out of the competition with a 3-0 loss to Barcelona at the Camp Nou, player ratings by ESPN have surfaced, highlighting Victor Moses’ above-average performance while shedding light on Thibaut Courtois’ challenging night.

Moses, the Nigerian forward, secured a six out of ten rating for his efforts. ESPN acknowledged his adeptness in handling Barcelona’s offensive threats and commended his willingness to take on defenders. However, the report noted some difficulty in delivering effective crosses into the box despite numerous attempts.

On the other hand, goalkeeper Courtois faced a more critical evaluation, receiving a four out of ten. The Belgian international conceded three goals, including two from the prolific Lionel Messi, who showcased his prowess with impressive strikes.

Despite the overall disappointment, certain Chelsea players earned praise for their performances. N’Golo Kante received a stellar rating of nine for his energetic and impactful display. Marcos Alonso and Willian both earned top marks, receiving eight each. Eden Hazard garnered a seven.

Looking ahead, Victor Moses and the Chelsea squad are set for an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday. As the team seeks to rebound from the Champions League defeat, the focus now turns to domestic competition for a chance at silverware.
